Veronica Sutton is a real estate development professional with 30 years’ experience in planning, financing and developing affordable housing, charter schools, day care facilities and professional office space in Jersey City, New Jersey. She is the former Vice President of the Urban League of Hudson County’s Affordable Housing and Community Development Corporation, a subsidiary corporation which she established and directed for 7 years. Previously, Ms. Sutton served as the League’s Housing Development Specialist. Veronica’s strengths include project management, construction management, and on-site implementation, and monitoring of OSHA, and DEPE regulations. She has generated more than 24 million dollars for community development projects and has inspired confidence in all with whom she has worked by fostering collaborative relationships and effecting profitable results. In 2002 the City of Jersey City recognized Ms. Sutton as a “Woman of Action” and in that same year, she coveted the NJ Future Smart Growth Award for “PROJECT RECLAIM” which illustrated the reclamation of an old bank building and its transformation into a beacon for social services as the headquarters of the Urban League of Hudson County. 

As the former President of the Jersey City Affordable Housing Coalition and former executive board member of the Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey, Ms. Sutton worked on local and state housing policy issues and served on the affordable housing advisory committee to elect Governor Jon Corzine. Ms. Sutton has served on several community boards including the Martin Luther King Neighborhood Development Corporation Board, the Lafayette Village Development Corporation Board (a HOPE VI project of the Jersey City Housing Authority) and Enterprise Community Partners(NY) Affordable Housing Advisory Board.

A true entrepreneur, with a passion for responsible housing development, Ms. Sutton established Eco-Finishes, LLC. an eco-friendly cabinet and millwork business that specialized in supplying "green products " to developers of affordable housing striving to attain LEED certification for their projects. In 2009, the company’s predecessor, Enviro-Millworks, LLC. (where Ms. Sutton was a 50% owner), performed as a subcontractor on the nationally acclaimed Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District Project, a LEED certified moderate income mixed-use project marketed to entrepreneurs that desired to live where they worked. This project is located in Newark, New Jersey.

In 2018, Ms. Sutton established VDS Consulting, LLC. The company specializes in real estate development projects designed to stimulate investment in communities needing revitalization. The company is evolving as a development partner and advisor to commercial real estate owner-investors hit hard by the Pandemic
